The Filon Boys Piano Concert was held at the Filon residence on Dec. 1. The response was overwhelming that hosts Peter and Suzanne Solis Filon decided to have two performances. Both performances were well attended.
Proceeds from the Filon Boys Concert will be donated to Feed the Hungry, Inc. to build a classroom for the school children in one of the areas devastated by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. So far, the Filon Boys Concert has raised $14,360.00! Some small children, Katherine (9) and Christine (7) Gillen; Sofie (11), Calliope (9), and Drexel (7) Reider, broke their piggy banks so they could donate to help the children affected by the super typhoon.
Roosevelt Elementary School in Bellingham, Washington raised $511 for the Philippine Typhoon Relief. Students came with coins from home to put in the jar.
Gloria Caoile’s sister, Eleanor, decided that ‘children’ would like to help other children affected by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda- so Eleanor started this Penny Jar.
